We are delighted to announce the appointment of Nadim Semaan, as a Partner. Nadim will join Alesco in July 2018 and report to Simon Clarkson, Managing Partner.
This newly created role will see Nadim work closely with our multi-disciplinary and specialist teams across all business lines to further develop its business and presence in the Middle East and Africa, while enhancing its client proposition in the region.
With a background in downstream energy and power, and Masters in Insurance & Risk Management from Cass Business School, Nadim has developed his insurance career to specialise on the Middle East and African insurance markets. Most recently at UIB, he moved from an initial focus on energy to multi-line business development and complex programme structuring, including parametric covers, trade credit and political risks.
Simon Clarkson commented: “Alesco has always focused on investing in the best talent available in order to continually improve its client proposition in an expanding range of specialist risk areas and geographies. Bringing Nadim into our team is a fantastic example of that investment, as we look to expand in the Middle East and Africa. His deep experience and knowledge of those markets, multi-lingual skill set and track record for developing and delivering complex risk transfer programmes to support clients’ businesses, all set him apart.”
Nadim added: “Alesco has built an impressive mix of specialists dedicated to servicing the dynamic and diverse needs of its clients, and it’s exciting to be joining a broker with an entrepreneurial culture and team that often breaks new ground in support of those clients. I’m very much looking forward to helping Alesco expand its presence in the Middle East and Africa, and ensuring its risk transfer solutions meet the fast-evolving needs of businesses in the region.”
